Ryan D. Moroney

Ryan Moroney joined the firm as an associate in January of 2009.

Mr. Moroney began his legal career with Opper & Varco, LLP (The Environmental Law Group) in San Diego, California, where his practice focused on providing environmental cost-recovery counseling to public agencies, including the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Diego and the San Diego Unified Port District. He relocated to Santa Cruz and prior to joining Wittwer and Parkin, LLP, was employed with a local civil litigation firm and interned as a coastal planner at the local office of the California Coastal Commission.

Mr. Moroney earned his B.A. in Ocean Studies, cum laude with a concentration in Political Science and a minor in Environmental Studies, from the University of San Diego. In 2001, he graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School, and received the school’s Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law.

During law school, Mr. Moroney clerked one semester for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s General Counsel for Fisheries in Silver Spring, Md., and served as a summer clerk for the Environmental Protection Agency, Regional III, Office of General Counsel. While an undergraduate, Mr. Moroney also worked part-time for an environmental consulting firm performing Phase I environmental assessments.
